About me

I am a counselling psychologist and a medical doctor. I work in a clinically oriented integrative approach.

My approach

I look at psychological difficulties as a whole, drawing on psychology, psychiatry, neuroscience and current research. I consider how thinking, emotions, life experience, relationships, stress and biological factors shape a person's state.

It matters to me not only to understand what troubles a person, but to work out why the difficulties arise and what sustains them, so that change lasts. I do not limit myself to one theory: I choose methods to fit the person's state and request.

My medical and psychological training helps me see the link between mental and physical health and notice signs of conditions that need additional medical care.

In my work I value an evidence-based approach, attentiveness to the person, joint search for solutions and respect for their experience.

What I work with

Anxiety, stress, emotional tension, difficulties in relationships, life crises, adjustment and emotional regulation.

Limits of my competence

I work within psychological counselling. It does not replace psychiatric diagnosis or medical treatment.

If I notice signs of a condition that calls for a psychiatrist or another doctor, we discuss it and the option of seeing the appropriate specialist. When needed, psychological work can run alongside medical treatment.
